Find a comfortable position, whether seated or lying down. Allow your body to settle into a place of ease and relaxation. If it feels right, gently close your eyes. Let's begin by taking a deep, cleansing breath together. Inhale slowly through your nose, filling your lungs with the nourishing air. As you exhale through your mouth, feel any tension or stress begin to melt away.
Bring your awareness to your jaw, inviting it to soften and release any tightness. Notice your shoulders, allowing them to drop away from your ears. Let your hands rest gently, palms open, symbolizing your willingness to embrace the present moment. Feel your belly expand with each inhalation and fall with each exhalation, as if it were a soft, rhythmic tide.
As you continue to breathe, let your attention rest on the sensations of the breath moving through your body. This isn't about imagining or thinking about the breath, but rather feeling it from the inside out. If your mind begins to wander, gently guide it back to the simplicity of the breath, without judgment or frustration.
In this space of mindfulness, we practice dropping beneath the layers of thoughts, emotions, and judgments that often cloud our experience. We allow ourselves to be present with what is, in its most basic and simple form. As you anchor your attention to the breath, notice how it is in this moment. Is it deep or shallow, long or short? As thoughts inevitably arise, acknowledge them with kindness and then gently return your focus to the breath, your constant companion in this journey of mindfulness.
Let's take one more deep breath together. Inhale through your nose, feeling your lungs expand with the life-giving air. Exhale through your mouth, releasing any remaining tension or resistance.
