Letting Go into Deep Relaxation
Beginner's Mind
Body Relax
❝A guided meditation to release tension and cultivate a sense of ease and tranquility.❞
Welcome to this practice of deep relaxation. As we begin, I invite you to find a comfortable position, either seated or lying down. Allow your body to settle into the surface beneath you, feeling the gentle pull of gravity as it anchors you in the present moment.
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs with the nourishing air. As you exhale through your mouth, let your jaw soften, your teeth slightly parted. Notice any areas of tension in your face and invite them to relax with each breath.
Now, bring your attention to your shoulders. Often, we carry the weight of the day in this area. With each exhalation, imagine your shoulders melting away from your ears, releasing any tightness or strain. Let your hands rest comfortably by your sides or on your lap, allowing them to be soft and at ease.
As you continue to breathe, feel your belly expand with each inhalation and gently contract with each exhalation. This is your body's natural rhythm, a constant companion throughout your practice and your life. Whenever your mind wanders, gently guide it back to the sensation of your breath, anchoring yourself in the here and now.
Remember, in this moment, there is nowhere else you need to be, nothing you need to do. Give yourself permission to fully let go, to surrender to the deep relaxation that awaits you. With each breath, feel your body sinking deeper into the surface beneath you, as if you were being embraced by the earth itself.
Imagine any remaining tension or worries as ripples on the surface of a vast ocean. As you sink deeper into relaxation, those ripples gradually fade away, leaving you in a state of profound stillness and tranquility. Here, in the depths of your being, you are safe, you are at peace.
As we near the end of our practice, take a moment to acknowledge your presence and your dedication to self-care. By taking this time for yourself, you are cultivating a sense of inner harmony that will ripple out into all aspects of your life.
Slowly begin to deepen your breath, allowing your awareness to expand beyond your body and into the space around you. When you feel ready, gently open your eyes, carrying this sense of deep relaxation with you as you continue your journey.
Remember, this practice is always available to you, a sanctuary of peace and ease that you can return to whenever you need it. Until next time, may you find joy in the present moment and may your path be filled with compassion and understanding.
