In this meditation, we'll explore a technique called square breathing, which can help you find a sense of balance and tranquility whenever you need it.

To begin, find a comfortable seated position, either on a cushion or in a chair. Allow your eyes to gently close, and take a moment to settle into your space. Notice the sensation of your body making contact with the surface beneath you, and let yourself feel grounded and supported.

Now, bring your attention to your breath. Without trying to change anything, simply observe the natural flow of your inhales and exhales. Notice the subtle sensations of the air moving in and out of your nostrils, and the gentle rise and fall of your chest and belly.

When you're ready, we'll begin the square breathing technique. Imagine a square in your mind's eye, with each side representing a different part of the breath. We'll start by inhaling for a count of four, holding for four, exhaling for four, and holding for four.

Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose for a count of four: one, two, three, four. Feel the air filling your lungs and expanding your chest.

Now, hold your breath for a count of four: one, two, three, four. Notice the stillness and the sense of fullness in your body.

Exhale slowly and completely through your mouth for a count of four: one, two, three, four. Allow your body to release any tension or stress as you let go of the breath.

Finally, hold the emptiness for a count of four: one, two, three, four. Observe the quiet space between breaths, and the sense of calm that arises.

Continue this pattern of square breathing for several rounds, moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. If your mind wanders, gently guide it back to the counting and the sensation of the breath moving through your body.

As you practice this technique, you may find that a deep sense of relaxation and peace washes over you. The rhythmic nature of square breathing helps to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and bring a feeling of balance and harmony to your entire being.

Remember, this simple yet powerful tool is always available to you, whenever you need to find a moment of calm amidst the chaos of daily life.
