Tiny Tots Mindfulness
❝A guided practice to help sharpen our focus and attention❞
Hello and welcome. I'm so glad you've joined me today. Let's take a few moments to settle in and get comfortable. You can either sit or lie down, whatever feels best for your body right now. Allow your eyes to gently close, if that feels okay for you.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, feeling your belly and chest expand. Then exhale fully through your mouth, letting go of any tension or stress. Your body can relax and be at ease. Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing, without trying to change or control it.

Now, bring to mind something that makes you smile - maybe a fun memory, a loved one, or a favorite place in nature. Really picture the details, using all your senses. See if you can hold that image in your mind's eye for a few breaths. If your mind starts to wander, that's completely normal. Just notice where it went, and gently guide your attention back to that positive image.

Let's try this again with a sound. Imagine you are by the ocean, and you hear the waves gently lapping at the shore. Or maybe you hear cheerful birds singing a melody. Whatever pleasant sound you choose, try to keep your focus on it. If you get distracted by thoughts, simply come back to the sound, without judging yourself.

Finally, let's focus on a physical sensation, like the warmth of sunshine on your skin, or a cool breeze blowing. See how closely you can pay attention to that chosen feeling in your body. If your mind pulls you away again, escort it back to that sensation, as many times as you need to.

The mind is like a puppy learning a new skill - with practice and patience, it will be able to focus for longer stretches. You're training your attention muscles each time you choose to return your awareness to the present. Even if you had to do it 100 times, that's okay. It's the practice that matters.

Whenever you're ready, start to wiggle your fingers and toes, taking a full breath in and out. You can blink your eyes open, coming back to the room feeling a little more centered and focused. Remember, you can practice directing your attention like this anytime, with any of your senses. It's a skill that will serve you well.

Thank you for spending this time with me today. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. Be well, my friend.

Meditation Song

[verse]
Close your eyes, let your mind settle,
Like a tranquil lake, thoughts become gentle.
Breathe in deep, let worries fade away,
In this moment, choose to stay.

[chorus]
Focus flows, awareness grows,
Concentration blooms like a delicate rose.
Clarity of mind, inner peace we find,
In mindfulness, our hearts align.
