Releasing Anxiety and Stress
Beginner's Mind
Anxiety Away
❝Find calm during the day, or drift more easily into sleep at night.❞
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position, whether you are sitting or lying down. Allow your body to relax and let go of any tension or stress you may be holding onto. Place one hand gently on your belly and the other hand on your heart, feeling the rise and fall of your breath.
Begin to deepen your breath, taking a long, slow inhale through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Then, exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of any worries or anxieties. Continue this pattern of deep, mindful breathing, focusing on the sensations of the breath entering and leaving your body.
As you breathe, start to scan through your body, releasing any tension you may be carrying. Bring a soft smile to your lips and let it spread to your eyes, allowing your entire face to soften and relax. Feel your shoulders melt away from your ears, letting them drop into a comfortable position. Let your hands rest effortlessly, feeling the space and liveliness within them.
Imagine your heart opening, like a flower blooming in the sunlight. Visualize a warm, comforting smile spreading through your heart, relaxing down through your abdominal area and into your belly. With each breath, feel your belly soften and expand, welcoming the nourishing air.
Continue to relax down through your pelvic region, into your legs, and all the way to your feet. Widen your attention to encompass your entire body, feeling it float in a field of sensation, safe and at ease. With each inhale, imagine receiving a gentle flow of soothing, healing energy from the universe. And with each exhale, release anything that no longer serves you, letting it go into the vast expanse of the universe.
If you notice any areas of tension, pain, or discomfort in your body, send a stream of caring, soothing energy to those places. Offer yourself a message of comfort, such as "I'm here for you" or "It's okay to relax." Allow the tender touch of your hand on your heart to provide a sense of support and love.
Should your mind wander into thoughts, gently guide your attention back to the present moment. Listen to the sounds around you and once again, let go of any tension in your body. Soften your shoulders, hands, belly, and heart.
Rest in the natural flow of your breath, feeling it as a grounding presence, a refuge from the chaos of daily life. Know that you are safe and at home in this breath, in this moment, and in this life. Allow yourself to surrender to the peace and tranquility that resides within you.
As you continue to breathe and relax, feel free to drift off into a restful sleep, or simply bask in the calm, centered feeling you have cultivated. Remember that this inner peace is always available to you, whenever you need it. Namaste, and may you be blessed with tranquility and ease.
