❝Embrace a child-like sense of awe and curiosity in this mindfulness practice, allowing yourself to experience the world anew.❞
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position, whether seated, lying down, or standing. If it feels appropriate, gently close your eyes. Take a deep, cleansing breath together, inhaling through the nose and exhaling slowly through the mouth. Allow your jaw to soften, your shoulders to relax, and your hands and belly to be at ease. As your body settles, let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
In this practice, we'll focus on cultivating a sense of wonder, approaching each moment with a child-like curiosity, as if encountering it for the very first time. Start by bringing this fresh perspective to your breath. Imagine that you've just discovered the incredible fact that your body breathes for you, even when you're not consciously aware of it. What a remarkable, mysterious gift. How might you observe this breath if you were witnessing it for the first time? Embody that sense of awe right now. This marvelous, ever-changing breath. Each inhale flowing into your body, expanding your belly, pausing briefly at the top, and then releasing in an exhale. And then, another breath follows. Some breaths may be longer, others shorter. Embrace the uniqueness of each one.
Now, extend that same sense of wonder to any aspect of your present experience. It could be something you haven't noticed before or something quite familiar, like the sensation of your beating heart or the simple act of hearing. Bring that child-like curiosity to the experience of being alive in this moment. Take one more deep breath together, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
When you feel ready, gently open your eyes. Well done. As you move through your day, try to infuse more aspects of your experience with this sense of child-like wonder. You may find that it truly enriches your life in countless ways. Thank you for dedicating this time to your practice.
Until we meet again, take good care of yourself.
