Embracing Abundance: A Meditation for Releasing Jealousy

Find a comfortable seated position, either on a cushion or in a chair, allowing your spine to be straight yet relaxed. Let your hands rest gently on your thighs, and if it feels comfortable, allow your eyes to gently close. Take a moment to settle into your space, feeling the support of the earth beneath you and the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Now, bring your awareness to your breath, noticing the cool sensation of the air as it enters your nostrils and the gentle warmth as it leaves. Allow each breath to be a reminder of the life-giving energy that flows through you, nourishing every cell in your body.
As you continue to breathe, bring to mind a time in your life when you felt a sense of jealousy or envy towards someone else. It could be a recent experience or one from the past. Allow the memory to surface without judgment, simply observing it with a kind and compassionate heart.
Now, imagine yourself in that moment, and visualize the person you felt jealous of. See them surrounded by a soft, golden light, symbolizing the abundance and joy that exists within them. Acknowledge that their happiness and success do not diminish your own, but rather add to the collective well-being of all.
With each breath, silently repeat these phrases to yourself:
"May your happiness and success continue to grow.", "I release any feelings of jealousy and embrace joy for you.", "Your abundance does not diminish my own."
"I open my heart to the limitless possibilities that exist for me."
As you repeat these phrases, feel a sense of warmth and expansion in your heart, as if a weight is being lifted from your chest. Allow yourself to genuinely feel happy for the other person's good fortune, knowing that there is enough abundance in the universe for everyone.
Now, bring your awareness back to your own breath and to the present moment. Notice any shifts in your energy or perception. Allow a soft smile to play on your lips, as you cultivate a deep sense of contentment and gratitude for all the blessings in your life.
As you continue on your journey, carry this feeling of abundance and joy with you. Whenever you find yourself slipping into feelings of jealousy, remember this practice and the infinite possibilities that exist for you.
Gently begin to deepen your breath, allowing your awareness to return to the room around you. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and when you feel ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a moment to stretch and ground yourself, carrying this sense of peace and contentment with you throughout your day.
